In late 2023, I purchased an expensive rugged Fenix 7 sapphire solar watch. This was worked great until 2 weeks ago, when the back button stopped working on the watch after one surfing session.
This is a known issue with the watch, and advice online was to perform a factory reset, and to contact Garmin for a replacement if it didnt work (which is my case)
After contacting customer service, they informed me that there was no more of this specific watch in stock, and the best deal that they could offer is 25% off a new watch.
As these watches are over $1,000 USD, $750 USD + is a lot to pay for a replacement. Especially this specific watch, which has a known issue with these back button issues, despite the watch being advertised for surfing/adventure sports.
I asked if they could increase the offer to 50%, which I believe to be reasonable given the circumstances, however customer service declined offering this or escalating my case further.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. Don't buy Garmin.
They are not the same company they were years ago and you cannot contact anyone to work through the problem for a good resolution.
Their reliance of "on line solutions" means no one will help you and the online solution never captures exactly what your problem is. In the end, a tremendous waste of the consumer's valuable time.
Calling into voicemail *** with about a dozen different options, some of which were indecipherable, and none of which were for anything remotely suggesting 'GPS,' I got lucky and hit 'automotive' and got a CS person. The CS guy said they can't look up why they canceled it and told me it probably was 'my fault' I didn't enter all the information in correctly. Right, my fault, of course! Well, since it was entered in correctly the first time, it would only mean they'd cancel my order for the same unexplained reason.
Importantly, if there was some 'problem' with my order, why was ONLY the GPS unit in the order canceled, but not the rest of the order? He pleaded ignorance (very easy to do) and just shrugged his shoulders (very easy to imagine) because he couldn't explain it or look any info up, and his answer defied logic. While on hold, they sent me an email for 30% off a new unit - but the URL was bad! Then they told me I'd have to call another department to check on the rest of the order and cancel it that way!
Are you kidding me?
How complicated is it to order a simple GPS unit? Complicated enough that I just called my credit card company, told them Garmin was incompetent and to reject their bill, and then in 2 minutes, ordered a GPS unit from Fracix based on several highly positive reviews.

Smooth experience
I had a good chat with Garmin customer service about my battery on my 45. However, I decided not to buy a replacement watch at this time.
Won’t turn on
No help at all, no response with the new sticker 4 plus not turning on. Did all the basics with the power cable, etc. Don't have electronic meters, etc.

I am not a techno person and was just trying to get some help getting my drive smart 66 EX up and running with traffic and weather. Maybe if you included a power cord with a antenna it would not be so hard to setup, I love my Garmin i just wish I could get it to work without using the DriveSmart app.

The Vivosmart HR phone and the Apple IPhone stopped pairing suddenly. The phone continued to work by itself; however, the phone stopped storing the information.

Scam Claims About Free Map Updates
Purchased Garmin product for $125 as it came with lifetime free map updates.
Come to find out that is only true if you purchase a new computer every 3 or so years as they drop supported for older Macintosh operating systems.
Never will buy from them again.

They just told me that they no longer support 42LM so they just washed their hands about the problem so I guess I can just throw what used to be 2 working systems in to the garbage can because they are useless since I ran the update to the maps and the software.
I updated the latest software and the latest maps, and now my GPS is a piece of garbage. Actually, two units, both 42LM.

I agree, I am currently sitting with the safe issue with Garmin. this seems to be their immediate go-to answer for any product failure issues.
I have had Apple watches 1,2,3,4 series and decided to move to Garmin as it is a watch built for the outdoors but clearly not for swimming in the ocean. Extremely frustrated with Garmin and there after sales.
